A data conversion project and providing a web service with the database content and the images. The frontend is developed by a third party.
The QURL solution
The only way of converting the data was data entry of a book “Apparaat Van Gulik” combined with catalogus cards available in the city library of Rotterdam. To make the data available to the web application, a webservice was created. Because SOAP would be overkill for the relative small amount of data and the use of ColdFusion at the third party, the choice for WDDX was made.
